to the Netherlands

This is a Dutch windmill, that's one of the things Simon and I will see often in the coming weeks.
We leave tomorrow morning for a couple of weeks.
We shall pay a visit to our youngest daughter and her children, other family members and friends.

Heart for the COH group

Yesterday I finished a new heart for the swap group Chains of hearts. I have made stem-stitch roses with 7 mm silk ribbon and a seam treatment on the right side with perle fine Sassa Lynne thread.

tast week 37

This week's stitch was the Rice stitch or also called William and Mary stitch. This one is on the left side of this piece. On the right side there is a variation called Square boss stitch.

Those stitches were not suitable for seam treatment so I have made them on a piece of aida.

Hearts

Those three hearts are made for the Chains of Hearts group for the Christmas swap. If you like a larger photo, just give them a click.

Tast week 36, cable stitch

This week's stitch was the cable stitch or cable chain stitch. I have made those two on my tast sampler and have used it on a few atc and postcards too where I have added a bead in the chain as Sharon suggested.

Bag for my DGD

This bag is made from two swap blocks, the first from the half/half swap ( made unknown) and the second from the spring fling swap ( made by Julie Coates). They both where 8 inch blocks.

I have made a handle and a pink lining in it. The bag is closed with a zipper.

I also added a few items myself on the first block.

Our grand daughter is nearly 5 years old now and she is a "pink" little lady :)

tast week 35, shisha stitch

This week's stitch was the shisha stitch. You can sew on little mirrors or coins on your work with this stitch. I have used a piece of a CD and a piece of yellow mother of pearl. For both I have used DMC perle 5 to sew the items on my TAST sampler.
